Trail Work
Thursday, July 20th, 2006Riding bike is a lot of fun, and once you start putting 30-50 miles on your bike a week and the trail, you realize how much wear and tear you contribute to the trail. That’s where trail work comes in.
The first pic is last Tuesday night’s trail crew on top of the log pile we created. This pile was created to try to discourage novice riders from entering the XX (Double expert) section of Lebanon Hills. It’s about 3 feet tall and requires quite a bit of speed to clear. There’s nothing to stop people from entering, but this is more of a abandon all hope ye who enter here obstacle.
The second pic is also from Tuesday. A couple of the crew members went off into the woods to find some logs. Instead, they found and dug up a 200 lb rock, which we loaded onto a log moving cart. Gosh that thing was heavy. Check it out.

I know what you mean about having an “ending time.” I blogged a piece this morning after midnight. When I got up and read it, it made no sense at all! So, 11pm might be a good cut off for me, as well. I love your blog, though, it is wonderful, as is Bethany’s. You both seem like really nice people and perfect for one another.
