Sadly, the day was mostly spent in the car, as I was in Omaha all weekend for the company softball tournament. I got some nice sunburn for my birthday though. However, at this point, it’s just a nice tan. Thank you, German ancestors, for giving me good skin.
The softball tournament went very well. It was certainly tiring to play 5 games, but I got to play shortstop for 3 of them (instead of standing around in the outfield). As a kid, I played 1st base (after my hero at the time, Kent Hrbek), 3rd base, shortstop, pitcher, and center field (in that order). Shortstop’s a fun position. It’s far enough away from the batter that you have time to blink, but it’s also far enough away from 1st base that you have a heck of a throw sometimes.
I did my second week of trail work at Lebanon Hills yesterday with Bethany. We actually got a new section of trail opened up to the public and got half of another one finished. I’m hoping to go out riding tomorrow if it doesn’t rain anymore tonight. *crosses fingers*
