Whistle while you work — JoomlaLib

Sunday, March 5th, 2006

Traffic around here has been steady, and I can see from the stats that there are lots of new BSQ Sitestats installations that are contributing to this. Welcome! The number of new installs will only go up as the *brand new* Joomla Directory site launched this afternoon. I know this site will be a huge plus to end users, who were continually frustrated with having to search the forge for projects that were both in active development and had released files (weren’t vaporware ala Duke Nukem Forever).

So, where’s the next release of BSQ Sitestats you ask?? The next feature release of BSQ Sitestats will be with the Joomla 1.1 beta, which is due in the next month. Even though I’ve ranted about not using Joomla for my own personal blog site, I’m still going to keep developing components and modules for it, as it is a wonderful open source community to work with.

Speaking of collaboration, Michiel and I have been working pretty hard on JoomlaLib , which is our set of essential APIs for Joomla 1.1 developers, based off of the Joomla 1.1 framework . Check out the JoomlaLib link above for details as to what the libraries will be able to do. Feel free to join the project on the forge if you’ve got some PHP skills and some ideas to contribute.
