Some progress on bsq_sitestats
Wednesday, October 19th, 2005
It’s great to see the interest in bsq_sitestats rising. Lots of people are checking up on the site. The next step is for you guys to make suggestions in the forums. At this point, there are few enough suggestions that if you suggest something reasonable and give a good reason, there’s a good chance it will make it in a version that’s coming up.
Check out the roadmap in the bsq_sitestats section on the left side for details about what is coming in the next couple versions of the component.
So far, for 1.3.0, I’ve added the importing of the ip2country database. This is a HUGE amount of data, so I’m not going to ship it with the default installation. I’m also going to provide a means to assign countries to IP addresses historically, so you don’t have to waste precious CPU cycles on your normal day-to-day hits. Check out the road map for more details on what’s coming in 1.3.0. I should be able to finish that by the end of the weekend.
