I was startled to see how many people showed up when I posted my project definition on the Joomla developer site. Thank you all for your interest. I guess that means I have to promise to deliver something that won’t disappoint.
Being new to the Mambo/Joomla community (mid-August, 2005), I’ve mostly been reading the forums, and endless source code to try to understand Joomla and its quirks as a CMS. Having written and maintained a custom CMS, I have been paying special attention to certain features of Joomla, like RSS, blogging, site statistics, and photo gallery management.
I started the site statistics project because I think I’m ready to finally contribe back to the community. Doing so before having studied existing projects and the core would have been premature.
For now, my goal is to release a version of bsq_sitestats so that you can all start collecting statistics. Once that is going well, I can start working on all the nice tabulars and charts. Enough talk though. Time to code!
