Bitter defeat in soccer
Wednesday, August 10th, 2005Wow. Two nights of soccer and two horrible losses. No wonder I’m walking funny!!!! The problem with BOTH of my soccer teams is that we have two distinct philosophies:
1. Run run run for two minutes and sub. That’s the category I’m in.
2. Run slower for ten minutes, get really tired, and then sub because the group 1 people are yelling that they’re ready to play again.
As a group 1 person, I played about 20 minutes out of our 50-minute game today. For those 20 minutes, I needed about 10 minutes of cumulative, solid rest time. The other 20 minutes was on the bench, watching in horror as the group 2 people let the other team dominate us. I’m not bitter though :pissedoff:. It’s just a game, and it’s just rec league. It’s just sad to see potential go to waste.
On a positive note, I have a new best friend. His name is Gatorade, and he comes in liquid form. No, not like A boy and his blob. It’s more like your friend who’s trapped in a bottle, only to be let out when you need some serious energy.
My whole childhood, I watched those Gatorade commericials on TV and thought it was a big joke to drink so much sugar. The few times I had Gatorade before, I almost threw up. NOT NOW.
All I drink now is water and diet pop (not soda, freaks!), so you can imagine how far a little sugar in my blood stream goes. YIPPPPPPEEEEEEE :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:. I was seriously worn out tonight about 2/3 of the way through the game, and after a swig of Gatorade, I was tapping my foot on the bench. Next up, crack :pimp:

“Time to go to work and have Mac continue to kill my inner child”
