Crazy C programming
Tuesday, March 8th, 2005Today’s symbol is the alien because that’s how I feel blogging after being away for so long.
Have you ever thought about something so hard that your brain kept thinking even when you took a break? I spent a good part of the day today looking at a single function in a single C file that took 7 different messages, proccessed them, and forwarded on pieces to be proccessed elsewhere. Simple? NO FREAKIN’ WAY. I took a late lunch about 6 hours into my shift, and my brain seriously would not shut up. I just wanted peace, and it just kept writing code and figuring out all the ways to write my 300-line mega-function. I think I figured out what to do just as my last ounce of brain was used up and I waddled to my car to go home for the night. I’ll get that bastard written tomorrow!
Why was I waddling? Because I ran 3 miles around the lake near my house this weekend. WOW! That was quite the change after just rollerblading for fitness. I’m so sore today. I guess it was a bad idea not to stretch 3x as much. You couldn’t beat the 62-degree weather though. :looney:
Bethany and I actually got registered this weekend at Target (Over 200 items on our gift registry!), and we cooked dinner together three times. Pretty much every meal we cooked involved Asparagus and Pepper. Sooooo good.
I picked up a book at B-Dalton’s on Friday called God’s Politics: Why the Right Get’s it Wrong and the Left Doesn’t Get It. The main theme is how Republicans make empty promises for progress and how democrats try to separate church from state while excluding moral conservatives. I’m about 30 pages into the book, and I love it already. You can check it out on Amazon here. I’ll write more about it as I read it more. It’s good to know that there are more moral conservatives out there who don’t fit the current Democrat or Republican status quo.
