Night on the town with the high school buddies
Saturday, February 28th, 2004It has been a while since I’ve written in here, and a LOT has happened since then. I was going to write in here last weekend, but my hosting providers screwed up everything :pissedoff:
It all started with me wanting to add a forum for the upcoming lan party. Well, my hosting provider decided to change the naming scheme for MySQL users and passwords, meaning that all of the users and databases I had created could not be deleted since they appeared to be under another user. Worse, I couldn’t automatically create any databases. 
After a long argument and restoring my databases from PhpMyAdmin twice, I got all of the databases working again. There was only one catch: the web server that was running my site decided to stop interpreting PHP pages. Every time somebody went to a page on my site, they were downloading my sourcecode. :holyshit: I can understand having technical difficulties, but at least disallow PHP pages all-together if you’re going to serve them up cold. I was so mad!!!
As you can see, it’s all working now. It took a total of 2 days to get everything back on track. The forum for the LAN party can be found here. If you’re planning on attending the lan party on March 20th, please post to the forum.
On to happier subjects….
I went out bar-hopping with Rondeau and Nate last night. That was so much fun!! :thumbsup: We drank for about 4 hours at two different bars. I really like the new ownership of Bob’s Pizza, now called the Corner Bar. They were really friendly, and their service was excellent. After the corner bar, we had to get a couple fish bowls from Sgt Preston’s. All in all, it was a great night!
