Working at Best Buy for the day after thanksgiving
Saturday, November 29th, 2003The first thing that came to mind yesterday morning when I got to work at my retail job was :holyshit: HOLY SHIT :holyshit:!! Since I work for Minnesota’s own #1 electronics store, we naturally had longer lines than our competitors. After I got to my department, I was stuck behind a mountain of merchandise that was stacked to protect us from the general crowds. When 5:55 AM came, I was standing next to the stack with the 8 other employees from my department who were scheduled to work from 5:15 AM - 4:00 PM. If you’ve ever seen LOTR: The Two Towers, we felt like the people at Helm’s Deep, waiting for the Orcs to overrun us. I’m so glad that my career is not in retail! :joker:
I’ve been fighting off sickness for the last few days. Needless to say, it has not made life easy for me. I just about passed out on Wednesday at my day job, and I was really struggling at my retail job yesterday :frown:. I went to bed last night at 11 and woke up this morning at 11. I can only think of 2-3 times when I have ever done that before. Time for me to be productive… bis spaeter!
