Spring break in Florida is approaching
Monday, March 11th, 2002 Well, it has been exactly a month since I have taken the time to update this page. A lot has happened since then. In the middle of last month, I played in the all-state concert band again. That was awesome, and the concert was amazing. I’m not sure how many gospel praise gig’s we’ve had since the start of the semester, but the last two weekends were overnights to Willmar and then to the iron range (Eveleth, Virginia, and Duluth).
I also had the misfortune of going to the internship fair this last month. It wasn’t too much of an internship fair, since most companies weren’t hiring or they were only hiring one or two out of the thousands of people who applied. I swear, I’ve never seen so many business majors in suits before. I got a follow-up or two out of the six companies that had IT jobs available, but I ended up looking for jobs at Augsburg’s recruiting office as soon as I got home. There are plenty of IT jobs right now for people who are graduating or already have IT careers and want to switch, but getting an internship is difficult and involves competing with a lot of people. I’d like to think that I could compete with some, if not all of them.
On a happy note, this is my last week before I spend a week on the sunny beaches of Florida. Oh yeah. I can’t wait. I’m going to get so sun-burned.
